BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Western New York Ford Dealers presented the Buffalo ADI Ford Dealers Cooperative Scholarship to Eric Fiorello, a college freshman at Buffalo State College. The scholarship entitles Fiorello to four years of undergraduate education paid in full.

“The WNY Ford Dealers believe in the importance of investing in the academic community to benefit the future of the Western New York area,” said Peter Delacy, scholarship selection committee, Western New York Ford Dealers. “The goal of our partnership with Buffalo State College is to ensure that higher education is accessible to young people who otherwise might struggle to afford it.”

Nationwide Prescription Medication Drop-Off Day A Success

WESTERN NEW YORK - The Drug Enforcement Administration is reporting that 3,280 lbs. of unneeded medications were safely disposed of Saturday as a result of 7 drug drops in Erie and Niagara Counties.

The DEA is anticipating that well over two tons of drugs will be safely incinerated at Coventa in Niagara Falls. Medications collected outside of Erie and Niagara County won't be tallied until Monday morning.

The 15 Western New York Collection sites were part of the DEA's national effort to rid our homes and communities of medications that can be misused and abused, particularly by teens.

The Drug Enforcement Administration wants you to hand over those old prescription pills, cough medicines, and other drugs that have been sitting in your medicine cabinet for years.

The DEA's Mark Caverly says it's a public health initiative amid concern about the growing misuse of prescription drugs, especially among kids 12 to 17 years old.

"Auction for Farm Animals" preview

With the Auction only a few days away I thought showing off some of the great items would be something everyone would like. The support of the local artisans has been really outstanding, and with nearly 20 gift certificates everyone who joins us Monday September 27th is sure to find something they love.

Many of the shops that donated are located on the Elmwood strip, and with fall quickly approaching, despite what today's weather is telling you, a walk along the Elmwood strip seeing the leaves changing, and shopping at these great shops is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, or evening.
