Elmwood Village hosts Latin Jazz Project

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Young Audiences WNY presents Family Night at the Elmwood Village Association's free summer concert series Tuesday, August 3. This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., families are invited to join the excitement at Bidwell Parkway on Elmwood as the Young Audiences WNY staff helps young concert-goers to create Mexican flowers. YA teaching artist Sarah Hooper will join the fun as she offers salsa lessons both before the concert and during intermission.

The evening's featured performance is by the Latin Jazz Project, beginning at 7 p.m.

In the years of its existence, the Latin Jazz Project has expressed a wide range of musical styles: latin, jazz, progressive and traditional, representing the musical heritage of multiple ethnicities embodied in the complexity of American life.

Led by percussionist/guitarist Manuel "Manny" Perez and pianist/arranger Kevin Doyle, Latin Jazz Project features the lead vocalist Carlos Day, percussionist Juancito Bentancourt on timbales, Francisco Quinones on congas and bassist Alex Aponte, all monumental talents.

Always a hit, don't miss this free show in Bidwell Parkway!
