Join us for another stimulating, festive Friday evening in our elegant Franklin St. location where psyche (soul), art and intellect come together in a creative environment unlike any other.

Josh Nickerson draws on Jung's "reconciliation of opposites" as he brings into dialog two diametrically opposed systems of compositional organization: the organic process driven forms of Abstract Expressionism and the rigidly geometric manufactured structures of Minimalism. Through this fusion, his works appear to be in a state of flux, where either a decrease or increase in order seems equally possible.

Skies over Buffalo, Wait a Minute :First Friday September at the Eatery
175 Allen St, Buffalo, NY 14201

"The Skies over Buffalo, Wait a Minute!" is an ongoing series of pastel and oil paintings created since September 2009 that illustrate the diversity of Lake Erie effects on weather. Kath Schifano has been regularly painting the sky view as seen from her Grand Island studio over treetops and found the variety of clouds and colors to be more than imagined. A plein air painter, Schifano had to work quickly to harness the winds and capture the light of the moment on paper and canvas. and she has developed a formidable respect for the grays of winter which were surprisingly varied. This exhibit will include pastels and oils that illustrate weather and skies of day, night, storm and sun from the same vantage point north of Buffalo.

The exhibit will be in Quaker Bonnet Eatery, 175 Allen Street, for the month of September with a reception the evening of September 3rd during the Allentown First Friday Gallery walk.

For more information, call Kath Schifano at (716) 775-1535 between 5 an 8 p.m.
