Title (Max 100 Characters)
Sisters of Charity Hospital graciously accepted a special donation for the NICU by Jonathan and Jessica Sowinski. They, along with a family friend, Kathie Kirszenstein, decided to donate back to the Sisters Hospital NICU after the Sowinski’s son, Hudson Joseph, passed. He was born October 19, 2011 at 24 weeks, weighing one pound six ounces.
Jonathan and Jessica along with family and friends wanted a way to remember and honor Hudson, as well as show their appreciation to the wonderful NICU physicians and nurses who became a part of their lives. With $4,800 donated dollars from their family and friends purchased an AccuVein portable device. The device helps to illuminate blood vessels in premature babies making life saving procedures such as IV line placement easier. “This is just a way to show our appreciation to the NICU staff and more importantly, help make life easier for all the babies in the NICU,” says Jessica. Every time the device is used Hudson’s name is displayed on the screen to honor his memory.
