Nichols School Offers Wide-Ranging Summer Programs
Nichols School Offers Wide-Ranging Summer Programs

This summer, Nichols School will be offering a wide variety of summer programs for students ages 7 – 17 from the Western New York area.

For the athletic student, Nichols offers Girls’ Hockey Camp (ages 9-18), Developmental Hockey Camp (ages 7-12), and Golf Camp (ages 9-14). These camps aim to keep athletic students training during the summer months and to aid them in honing their skills and knowledge of the game. All three camps will be held at different points of the summer, each for a five-day period, making it easier for students who enjoy hockey and golf to try their hand at both. For those not interested in a specific sport, the G.O.A.L.S. (Go Out and Live Strong) Camp offers an alternative for ages 7-12 that includes a variety of indoor and outdoor games and sports.

Nichols will also offer programs for students who are more in-tune with the arts. Students who enjoy theater may want to attend the “Curtain Up!” camp (ages  13-18). This program runs for one two-week session that concludes with a production of the musical “Guys and Dolls.” For the younger crowd, three artistic programs for students entering grades 5-8 will also be offered. The “Exploring Buffalo’s Artistic and Cultural Treasures” program will run for two separate sessions and will show students the presence of art in Buffalo, including trips to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and Griffis Sculpture Park. “Print, Bind & Sculpt” will teach students the basics of printmaking, papermaking and bookbinding. Finally, the “Recycled Art Treasures” program will offer students the opportunity to explore artistic uses for recycled materials that will culminate in a collaborative sculpture for Nichols’ rooftop garden.

Those who wish to further their education this summer will have no problem doing so through Nichols’ programs. Nichols will be offering an Academic Enrichment program for middle school students, as well as both a Study Skills camp and SAT Preparation course for high school students.

Other features this summer include Drivers Education, Robotics Camp and Girl Power. More details about all of these camps can be found on the Nichols School Summer Programs page on Nichols School’s website. If you are interested in registering your child for any of these camps, click here.
