From the time you enter the building, you know that Tapestry has an arts focus. The walls are protruding with art projects. Around every corner, there is something new to discover. Their new space allows them limitless possibilities.

The focus is present due to the dedication of the Director of Arts Education, Hannah Raiken-Schulman, who has helped to finalize classroom needs that include a new dance studio, music room, and visual arts space.

Celebrate Lincoln's Birthday with a BANG! (and some music) at the Historical Society

Celebrate Lincoln's Birthday with a BANG! (and some music) at the Historical Society

Join us for a celebration at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society. We'll honor President Abraham Lincoln with a 202nd birthday celebration on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1:00 p.m.

The annual Historical Society event, which is free and open to the public, will begin with a commemorative ceremony at the bronze statue of Lincoln on the museum’s portico, led by members of the Benedict Maryniak chapter of the Buffalo Civil War Roundtable. Dozens of re-enactors will participate in a real gun-salute, firing their replica rifles off the portico steps.

Following the ceremony, guests may warm up inside the museum with a brief address by Abraham Lincoln (as portrayed by re-enactor Dave Kreutz).

Cowboy Mouth: A Reenactment on Stage

By Matthew LaChiusa

Theater is the ultimate source for imaginative stories of unique characters.

That is the beauty of Dramatic Arts. Through theater productions, audiences are transported to another place and time to witness strangers live out stories of passion, hatred, redemption and whatever else human emotion can be displayed.

Most theatrical stories and charactors are based in fiction. With rare works, the characters and places are actually based on real people and events. Drama usually has no place for boring history--atleast on stage.

Cowboy Mouth, being presented by American Repertory Theater of WNY, is not an imaginary place in time with made-up characters.
