Irish Classical Theater Company: Les Mooney to be Laid to Rest for Good

Irish Classical Theater Company: Les Mooney to be Laid to Rest for Good

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Join us at The Wake, where we gather to celebrate the passing of our dear, departed fictitious friend, Les Mooney.  Your ticket to The Wake includes all the food, wine and beer you’d like.  Which is saying something, given that we’re talking about an Irish wake.  High-spirited dancing and carrying-on will not only be allowed but actively encouraged.

Proceeds of the party benefit the Irish Classical Theatre Company.

Come thirsty!  Your ticket includes complimentary wine and beer all night.  There will be plenty of fabulous food courtesy of The Gourmet Store, too.  Mix and mingle with Les Mooney’s “loved ones” and learn about his life and times.  Free Parking for the event will be available in the Kleinhans Music Hall parking lots on Porter and on Normal.

Scotch and Chocolate Event Slated at the Beautiful Grand Theatre

Scotch and Chocolate Event Slated at the Beautiful Grand Theatre

Among the many things that Western New Yorkers appreciate, great food and theater would be high on the list! With that in mind, the historic Grand Theatre in nearby London, Ontario, dating back to 1901, will hold its second annual Taste: Scotch & Chocolate event, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26. The event will take place in The Grand’s McManus Studio, located at 471 Richmond St., London.

Taste will feature a scotch-tasting bar, chocolate- and scotch-inspired foods, chocolatier Marc Forrat, an open bar, silent auction and the Alfredo Caxaj Latin Ensemble. Only 150 tickets, priced at $75 each, are available for this very special occasion.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Please join the Richardson Center Corporation on Wednesday, January 26, 6:00 pm at Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center for an informational and interactive meeting on the Richardson Olmsted Complex South Lawn.

The design plans carry out a contemporary interpretation of the Olmsted design for new and existing users.

At the meeting, plans for this $4 million construction project will be unveiled and the community will have the opportunity for discussion. Updates on the Master Plan, stabilization, parking relocation, ownership and implementation schedule will also be presented.  Questions? Call (716) 849-6070 or email.

TOY Introduces New Winter Re-Charge Theatre School this February

TOY Introduces New Winter Re-Charge Theatre School this February

Education has always been a large component of Theatre of Youth’s (TOY) mission and that mission is manifested each year with the development of the TOY Theatre School.  Existing in various forms since TOY’s inception in 1972, the TOY Theatre School is entering its third consecutive year of popular workshops since their move to the Historic Allendale Theatre in 2001.  The Winter Re-Charge series, taking place February 21-25 during the 2011 winter break, marks the first time that TOY has been able to offer mid-season workshops to local children.  The cost per student is $150 and classes are restricted to just 12 students per teacher.
