Historical Society Puts the Spotlight on Niagara Square

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society, in co-sponsorship with the Louise Bethune Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians, is pleased to announce an evening program featuring Jennifer Walkowski, architectural historian.

Walkowski will share her insight and research about the history of Niagara Square and Buffalo City Hall in an illustrated lecture, "The Keystone of the Arch of the Plan: Edward H. Bennett's Buffalo of Tomorrow and John J. Wade's Buffalo City Hall." The talk will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13 at the History Museum.

Walkowski, acting president and founding member of the Louise Bethune Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians, is the leading authority on the history and architecture of Buffalo City Hall.

Holiday Dinner Dance Featuring Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band to Benefit Pet Connection

Tickets are now available for a Holiday Concert/Dinner Dance featuring Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band that will take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at the Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pet Connection Programs Inc., a special care shelter for dogs and cats located in Marilla.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Enjoy the outdoors one last time before summer ends and experience some of the best vintage cars Western New York has to offer with Elmwood Village Cruise Night, Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Elmwood Avenue between Lancaster and Cleveland avenues.

Cruise Night is a great family event and is expected to be even larger than our previous event in June. Local retail shops and restaurants will feature sales, dining specials and live music.

Got an awesome car you want to show off? Then please join us. Registration is free and spots are still available. Just show up with your vintage vehicle and join the fun.

Enjoy a beautiful summer night out in the Elmwood Village with some amazing vintage transportation, culture, shopping, dining and entertainment. Best of all, the event is completely free.
