Winter Market Continues on March 18 with Free Exercise/Yoga Class, Nutrition Information

The Elmwood Village Winter Market at Buffalo State, an indoor version of the popular Elmwood Village Farmers Market, continues from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 18, in Buckham Hall on the campus of SUNY Buffalo State, 1300 Elmwood Ave.

In addition to hosting nearly 20 quality vendors, entertainment is offered from approximately 10 to 11:30 a.m. Providing musical entertainment on March 18 will be No Illusions. Healthy Buffalo/D’Youville College School of Pharmacy will host the market’s community table.

A free exercise/yoga class is also offered every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon in Buckham Hall. Participants are asked to bring a bottle of water and a yoga mat. A goodwill offering for the instructor would be appreciated.

Additionally, students from the Health, Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Buffalo State will provide free nutritional information at the Winter Market on the following dates: March 18, and April 1 and 8.

Participating vendors include Alpine Made, Angel Cakes By Evin, Barrel & Brine, Belleview Farm, Biscotti for Everybotti, Blue Table Chocolates, Carla’s Crumby Creations, Darling Bee, Fetch! Gourmet Dog Treats, First Light Farm & Creamery, Go Veggies, Kindred Kreek Alpaca Farm, LynOaken Farms, Native Offerings Farm, Plato Dale Farm, Public Espresso + Coffee, and Rooted Locally.

Buckham Hall is located on Rockwell Road near Grant Street. Free parking is available on campus during market hours, and Lot R-13 is recommended for convenience.

Field & Fork Networkʼs “Double Up Food Bucks” program has returned for the indoor marketʼs second season, providing low-income individuals who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits with a $1 for $1 match, up to $20, to purchase fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables.

On Saturday, May 13, the Elmwood Village Farmers Market will return to its usual outdoor location at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway in Buffaloʼs historic Elmwood Village. Both markets are a program of the Elmwood Village Association.
