Coming Saturday, September 18, to the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market: A beer brewing demonstration with Community Beer Works, and wine-tasting courtesy of Schultze Vineyards & Winery and Leonard Oakes Estate Winery! Feed Your Soul will also be touring the Market with Chef Steven Gedra of Bistro Europa. Sounds like the makings of a memorable day!

Transplant Miracles Foundation's Treasure Island Picnic to Support Organ Transplant & Research

The Transplant Miracles Foundation is asking the community to come out in support of organ transplant and research at the 3rd annual Treasure Island Family Picnic – or else have to walk the plank! The yearly fundraising event is Saturday, September 18 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the West Side Rowing Club and Frank Lloyd Wright Rowing Boathouse.

Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per family and include food, drinks, raffles, games, music and fun for the whole family. Proceeds from the event support organ transplant and surgical research, the treatment and care of transplant recipients and to promote organ donation.

Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market Announces Weekend Highlights

Musical entertainment by the Buffalo Chamber Players and wine-tasting courtesy of Niagara Landing Wine Cellar and Arrowhead Spring Vineyards are among the scheduled attractions on Saturday, September 11, at the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market. 

Comprised of members of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Buffalo musicians, the Buffalo Chamber Players is a mixed instrument chamber ensemble dedicated to exploring the lesser-heard masterworks of the chamber music repertoire.

Please join us in celebrating the publication of Students Speak: Reactions to Class Experiences at Buffalo State College, a joint publication of Butler Library and the Monroe Fordham Regional History Center, by Abel King Fink, Ed.D. emeritus professor of Educational Foundations.  Dr. Fink will sign copies of his new book in Butler Library room 134 from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27. Copies are also available from Kathy Hanaka, 878-5509, in the campus Barnes & Noble bookstore.
