On February 4, 2012, the Maddie’s® Pet Rescue Project partners will be hosting Bully for You!, an adoption event to promote pit bull type dogs in our community.  More than a dozen dogs will be available for adoption from the SPCA Serving Erie County and the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter from 11am – 2pm in the SPCA Auditorium, 205 Ensminger Rd.

On Sep. 30th and Oct. 1st, WNY's largest adoption event is coming to the Fairgrounds Event Center in Hamburg.  Join 25 area rescue groups and shelters for the Maddie’s Pet Rescue Project Pet Expo & Super Adoption Event between 6pm and 9pm on Friday and 10am and 5pm on Saturday.

Groups from across the region, from Chautauqua County to Niagara County, will be present throughout the Pet Expo with adoptable dogs and cats.  Dogs and puppies of various breeds, as well as cats and kittens and smaller pets like rabbits will be available for adoption.  Many groups will be permitting adopters to take their new pet home on the spot.  Adoption fees will vary by organization.  In most cases, the fee includes spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations.

America's pet industry is booming.  According to the market research company Packages Facts, pet owners spent $55 billion on products and services for their pet in 2010.  To fulfill area pet owners' desire to shop for quality products and services for their favorite furry friend, the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project will be hosting Western New York's largest Pet Expo. 

The Pet Expo will be held on Sep 30 and Oct 1 at the Fairgrounds Event Center in Hamburg.  Boarding facilities, fencing companies, gourmet pet treat makers, and other businesses that would appeal to a pet owner's lifestyle are invited to participate in this comprehensive event.  Local rescue groups can also take part in the Expo's Super Adoption Event.  Between established pet owners and those who adopt during the Pet Expo, over 2,500 people are expected to attend.
