La Kueva Brings Puerto Rican Cuisine to Hertel Ave

La Kueva Brings Puerto Rican Cuisine to Hertel Ave

We unfortunately arrived 15 minutes before they closed. We were under the impression the restaurant was open until 10pm, but they close at 7pm Monday through Wednesday (9pm, Thursday through Saturday). Luckily, the woman behind the counter was still excited to have us inside the restaurant and let us order dinner. A couple of the menu items had been sold out (she mentioned they make everything fresh) but we were still able to enjoy several different dishes.

Winter Market at Horsefeathers Begins Transition to Permanent Vendors

Winter Market at Horsefeathers Begins Transition to Permanent Vendors

Only two weeks remain to visit the popular Winter Market at Horsefeathers, located at 346 Connecticut St. on Buffalo’s West Side, before it gives way to a new season of the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market in the Elmwood Village. The transition of the Winter Market also continues, as three permanent businesses celebrated a grand opening celebration on Sunday, April 21.

Officially opening their doors to the public on Sunday were Martin Cooks, The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets. The first floor and basement will eventually host several permanent food-related businesses and will also offer a community kitchen. The upper floors of the 115-year-old building will feature brand new apartments.

Buffalo Bites Food Tours Return for Second Helping of Elmwood Village Exploration

Buffalo Bites Food Tours, a unique walking and eating tour of one of Buffalo’s most historic districts, returns to the Elmwood Village for year two of culinary exploration and experimentation!

The three-hour walking tour, featuring stops at six popular restaurants and food-related shops, is the brainchild of Buffalo native Laura Reed, who brought the tour to Buffalo last year after experiencing a similar adventure in New York City. Before bringing her business to Buffalo she trained in Chicago with Food Tour Pros, a company that has helped entrepreneurs start food tours around the globe.
